Federal Accounting Analyst

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Solutions Client Finance team. This role is open to virtual/remote candidates.  Our Federal Accounting Analyst performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling moderately complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. You will maintain the accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems; assist in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year end closings.

What this job involves:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate recognition of revenue in compliance with contract terms, Sarbanes Oxley and SOCR requirements
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, from balance sheet and cash account reconciliations to financial statement preparation
  • Submit financial statements and work papers in reviewable form (including documentation) and within the proper time frame for review
  • Prepare and assist with audit write ups for quarterly audits and monthly contracts that meet scope
  • Prepare and properly document journal entries in accordance with ASC606 reporting requirements
  • Prepare and track accruals and accrual entries
  • Perform daily accounting and support processes for assigned properties.  Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for assigned responsibilities
  • Assist in producing timely and accurate monthly financial statements and provide variance analysis on information which could include supporting revenue schedules, labor reports, and expense review
  • Assist in the creation of the annual plan and quarterly forecasts for the client group

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA a plus removed or Finance
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in a federal government contracting environment, including Fixed Price, Cost Plus, and Time and Material contracts
  • Experience working in a DCMA/DCAA audit environment
  • Familiarity w/ FAR Part 31/CAS/DFARS
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Advanced accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications required; experience with real estate accounting software a plus (JDE, MRI, Skyline, and/or Timberline) JD Edwards E1 knowledge a plus.
  • Experience using Wide Area Workflow for customer billings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs
