Licensed Practical Nurse FT Aylette


This is a Contract position in Aylett, VA posted July 2, 2020.


  • Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program.
  • Valid LPN license in VA
  • 1 year related IDD experience
  • Clean, valid Driver’s License

Merakey is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to join our IDD division in our Aylett, VA location.

Rate: $21.00 per hour

Schedule: Week 1 Sun, Wed, Thur 7:00p-7:00a; Week 2 Mon, Tue, Sat 7:00p-7:00a


The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct care and support to medically fragile adults with a diagnosis of intellectual disability. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Assists individuals with activities of daily living, including hygiene, medication administration, meals, household chores, and enjoying the community.
  • Rrequires driving a large wheelchair accessible van, attending medical appointments with the individuals, interacting with family members, and participating in team meetings.
  • Helps people with intellectual and physical disabilities pursue their interests and gain greater independence.
  • Professional duties also include assessment of individuals, in service trainings, communication of health issues to interdisciplinary team, and health liaison with parents, physicians and pharmacy
