Role and Responsibilities

BUSINESS UNIT:  MPC

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supports to fulfill the procurement needs and requirements of product development projects and activities.
  • Issue daily delivery orders and ensure parts availability to support production
  • Initiate and perform inventory control, initiate purchase requisitions and purchase orders, prepare purchasing reports, and record purchasing transactions.
  • Resolves purchasing and procurement related issues and discrepancies. Identifies and resolves invoicing problems and issues between accounting and vendors.
  • Initiates Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s)
  • Complies with purchasing policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the best prices and the most optimum delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment while enhancing their efficiency
  • Performs purchasing activities in compliance with procurement standards, controls, and ethical business practices.
  • Prepares and presents reports, provides information to identify purchasing requirements, and communicates and reports performance against plans and business objectives.
  • Manages excess and obsolete materials on and off site, Samsung owned and Vendor owned, on and off site.
  • Manages projects and activities to ensure conformance to plans and the timely and effective achievement of results.
  • Identifies schedules, and performance of procurement activities in accordance with business project schedules and plans.

Operational:

  • Some after hours and holiday/weekend work is required
  • Occasional international travel required

Role and Responsibilities:

Required Skills:

  • Experience with SAP or similar business enterprise purchasing, inventory control, and procurement management system.
  • Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications, advanced in Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint preparation skills
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Korean language is desired for communication with headquarters in Korea
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative skills

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

  • The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.
  • Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
  • The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.
  • Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress.
  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas.
  • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
  • Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions.  Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
