Data Enablement Analyst – Remote

Data Enablement Analyst

The Data Enablement Analyst uses BI products, SQL, and other tools to create data sources and reports for the use of internal and external business partners. Analyzes existing processes to determine how best to migrate them to alternate solutions using approved data sources and tools. Optimizes new and existing queries to improve performance and server load.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop distribution ready reports, analyses, and presentations on book of business as well as individual clients or departments. Work closely with internal and external clients to satisfy data reporting needs.
  • Manipulate, merge, and mine large and complex data sets (structured and unstructured) from diverse sources, to drive appropriate business actions based upon solid evidence.
  • Serves as an expert in synthesizing data and verifying the correctness of that data based on other data sources.
  • Create and maintain insightful automated dashboards and data visualizations to track key business metrics.
  • Report Automation – works independently or with IT to publish self-service reports based on client needs/requests.
  • Proactive and effective interaction with other internal groups (marketing, sales, operations) throughout One Call.
  • Develops and maintains documentation templates and standards for documentation of data extraction and output specifications, reports and other requirements.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses scalability and performance bottlenecks to support data volume.
  • Evaluates and improves internal tools and processes.
  • Projects may include: supporting business users who use existing BI reports, creating data sources and reports for new data projects, analyzing legacy code to determine how to re-write it for better performance or against an alternate data structure, reviewing an existing report to update it to use a new reporting framework, etc.
  • If working with federal government contract clients, an employee is required to receive federal government clearance for handling sensitive information. Employee is also required to receive annual security awareness training.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or Finance preferred or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Tableau or another BI tool (SSRS, Power BI, etc.)
  • Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server preferred)
  • Ability to accurately interpret other people’s code and think of alternate solutions for the same problem.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and provide validation of results.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team and take leadership in solving difficult situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Access, etc.)

Data Enablement Analyst II

Advanced role. Expert knowledge of the field. Empowers product teams with data and insights, to enable timely decisions and answer high priority user and business questions. Has a strong understanding of how to work with large-scale business data sets and is an expert user SQL, Excel, and BI tools (4+ years). Works on one or more projects as a team member or occasionally as a project lead. Works under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment. Coach, mentor, and train more junior staff. Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence or decision support functions in technology, management consulting or related industries
