Role and Responsibilities

  • The Q&R Operations technician position is responsible for 2 highly critical processes within the Quality Department.
  • As an OQA inspector, he or she will be responsible for critical quality hands-on inspection as the final point of quality control prior to product wafers leaving the SAS facility and shipped to customers.
  • The OQA Inspector requires a high degree of independent decision making to prioritize work, adjust to changing priorities, and respond to abnormalities.
  • ALPS technicians are responsible for completing analysis of abnormal product to prevent shipment of low quality product.
  • Technician will be responsible for data analysis and verification from various unit parts to ensure lot processing does not affect yield.
  • This position will interface across levels and departments within the SAS organization to provide clear communication of issue status and coordinate actions to meet the business need.
  • ALPS technicians are responsible for completing analysis of abnormal product to prevent shipment of low quality product.
  • Technician will be responsible for data analysis and verification from various unit parts to ensure lot processing.
  • The OQA Inspector will load, operate, and assist in troubleshooting AVI (automated visual inspection) equipment, perform defect review and classification, and execute microscope inspections.
  • When nonconforming material is identified, the OQA Inspector will investigate the root cause, create summary reports, and lead the response within the factory, with escalation as appropriate based on event severity and impact.
  • The OQA Inspector will have ownership for closed-loop verification of corrective actions and root-cause preventive countermeasures for recurrence prevention (CAPA).
  • Strong attention to detail is required with accountability for errors.
  • Work days and hours:  D-Shift (W/Th/F -every other Sat 7pm-7am)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have two year technical degree, equivalent military experience, or 3+ years directly applicable experience in high volume semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience utilizing and troubleshooting with Rudolph AVI equipment, SEMES review station, and/or Olympus microscope equipment is strongly desired.
  • Must be able to follow SOPs and identify nonconformities against specifications and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to perform the visual and physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time during a 12 hour shift.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software required.
  • Understanding of SPC, AQL concepts and decision making; execution of action plan in response to failing results.
  • Ability to quickly learn and execute proprietary software systems and adjust to procedure changes required.
  • High level of initiative and desire to learn.
  • For the first 3 months, this person will be on 1st shift.
