Senior System Software Engineer – Graphics

NVIDIA Corporation

This is a Full-time position in Santa Clara, CA posted May 25, 2020.

Location: Santa Clara, CA

We are now looking for a Senior Systems Software Engineer!

NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company.” We’re looking to grow our company, and build our teams with the smartest people in the world. Join us at the forefront of technological advancement.

Join our Android software platform team that designs and builds industry-leading technologies for cloud gaming and consumer entertainment products. You should have a proven track record of strong software development experiences including design documentation, quick prototyping, code review, build process and test automation while leading the activities, communication and collaboration necessary for successful product releases.

What you’ll be doing:

While working in the agile team, you will deep dive into the whole Android graphics software stacks which interact with core system software components. As a senior engineer in team, you will design, develop, and debug functional aspects of our cloud gaming solutions on top of NVIDIA GPU technologies. And, performance engineering is also an important area where your crucial contribution is expected for the best user experiences.

What we need to see:

  • Hands-on experience on Android 2D/3D graphics stacks

  • Deep understanding on system software internals (like process scheduling, multithreaded programming, memory management and I/O systems)

  • Ability to debug system performance and stability issues

  • Considerable programming experience in C/C++ and Java

  • Ability to write test automation and technical documents for your own code

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals and problem solving skills

  • More than 6 years experience in software development teams

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Practical experience in modifying Android internal components and adding new features
  • Proven knowledge of display or multimedia technology internals connected to graphics modules
  • Practical experience on Linux kernel internals and hypervisors
  • Experience in open source software maintenance
  • Proactive and able to work efficiently across different functional teams.

With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, Nvidia is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the brightest people in the world working for us and, due to unprecedented growth, our elite engineering teams are rapidly growing. If you’re a creative and autonomous engineer with a real passion for technology, we want to hear from you.
