Head of Global Experience & Design for HP Print

Description –

The Role:

  • Strategically manage product design to capture growth within a large-scale, mature, global business across all channels of print business
  • Lead a team of designers to develop holistic, multi-category product lines that deliver market-leading, innovation, drive revenue and capture market share globally
  • Lead design team through product approvals that uphold the integrity of our print business; are creative, innovative and deliver the highest quality products for the money and breakthrough in the marketplace globally
  • Partner with Consumer Insights and Analytics to drive up-front trend point of view and identify future areas of growth
  • Partner with Marketing, R&D and Operations teams to bring our content and IP to life properly and with a consistent brand point of view across the globe
  • Design experiences that meet or exceed margin requirements and while delivering proper price/value.

The Challenge:

  • Chart the course: Creating compelling, user centered experiences that frame the future success of HP Print team.
  • Lead the team:  Harness the capabilities of a globally diverse team, that are focused in:
    • UX and System Design
    • Industrial Design/CMF
    • Experience Design
    • Interaction Design
    • Visual Design
    • Research and User Centered Testing
  • Push boundaries: Assess current and planned portfolio and recommend innovative and creative solutions
  • Measure Success: Establish a frame to measure business success.
  • Establish and Develop the Team: Foster the creativity of the team and grow their competence through your thought leadership and expertise.

Demonstrated Ability and Proven Track Record:

  • Fostering a culture of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking by attracting, developing and retaining a diverse community of the industry’s most exceptional talent
  • Striving to generate actionable insights that drive print experiences
  • Anticipating and leading people through change.
  • Applying business acumen to an organization’s problems/challenges and developing solutions that reflect solid judgment.
  • Collaborating and influencing throughout a global and matrixed organization.
  • Ability to make strong and compelling business cases, based on observations and deep insights of the customer domain markets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction/Industrial Design or other design-related field
  • Proven ability to lead a global team of creatives
  • 5 years or greater of senior leadership in a Fortune 500 Company

Organizational Alignment and Location:

  • You will be a part of the Print leadership team, reporting to the Global Leader of 2D Print Hardware Systems
  • You’ll be based in Vancouver or Boise, so that you have quick access to your team and partners who are based in these locations or various other satellite locations around the globe.
