As part of the Global A&E team, the Advanced Energy team is responsible for identifying new battery, charger and power technologies to ensure our products are delivering on customers’ ever increasing energy requirements.

Job Description

• Responsible for the Mechanical modeling, prototype creation and design of Advanced Energy concepts.
• Verifies designs using CAE, manual methods, and functional test.
• Designs and performs experiments for verification of analysis.
• May interface with the customer interface on product definition and requirements

Additional Skills:

• Mechanical static and dynamic simulation analysis desired
• Strong knowledge and experience in ProEngineer CAD application
• Knowledge and experience with Finite Element packages
• Knowledge in designing with Six Sigma
• Experience working with Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (FMEA) and Risk analysis
• Experience in using statistics to resolve manufacturing and engineering issues
• Experience with plastic part design
• Experience with sheet metal design
• Experience with Printed and Flexible circuit design
• Ultrasonic and Resistance Welding Expertise desired

• Experience with Abacus (structural simulation) and Icepack (Thermal simulation)

• Experience with Pro-E wildfire

• Experience with Engineering plastics / FPC design

• Experience in Wireless Charging

Preferred Qualified Skills:

• Experience with designing for Agency requirements, e.g. CE, UL, etc
• Able to perform Mechanical Design Analysis
• Green Belt certification desired.
• TIA4950, ATEX/IECEX, MSHA, CSA Hazloc Energy Design Expertise.

Basic Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
10+ years experience in lithium ion battery, charger, and power supply design.
