Job Description

The Planner Scheduler will be based in Austin, Texas. In this position, you will Responsible for supporting materials and production functions. Assume the role of Production planner & Master scheduler for medical manufacturing

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Analyzes customer demand information, forecasts, orders, machine, labor and material availability in order to develop master schedules for major work areas.
  • Coordinates with Materials, Engineering, Facilities, Quality & Operations for Input / output planning.
  • Approves Work Order release in the production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
  • Monitors committed ship date (CSD), lead-time, response time, inventory, Work Order aging, WIP aging, Plan Vs Actual, Manufacturing cycle time and prepare action plans to address gaps.
  • Reschedules production in the event of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Develops, selects, pilots and/or customizes continuous improvement methods to effectively implement lean manufacturing for varied production and business processes.
  • Presents production plans to Customer Focused Team, at production status meeting, to customer
  • Proactively addresses  customer / internal escalations related to order commitments, order expedites, and schedule slips
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or required to support other team member’s responsibilities.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

  • Requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering / Management / Technology / Supply Chain or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience OR Masters degree with 3 years related experience
  • MS Office/ Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Manufacturing Execution Systems / Advanced Planning and Scheduling Systems / programming / Value Stream mapping / Business Process mapping
  • Ability to learn new tools/software quickly and work/multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point, word..)

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

  • APICS / ISM preferred.
  • Manufacturing/High Tech Industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Industrial engineering & Manufacturing management principles and practices .
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing environment
