Sr. Security Technical Program Manager

Security Technical Program Managers (STPMs) play a critical role within Salesforce Security. They lead large-scale, cross-functional security initiatives focused on developing, protecting and maintaining our customers trust. STPMs are responsible for seeing programs through from beginning to end, establishing effective program structures, driving to measurable results and doing it all with effective communication. They work closely with executives and key company stakeholders to drive critical programs and activities across the company to deliver meaningful business results.

As Security Technical Program Manager in Salesforce Security group you will be responsible for partnering across teams to identify and execute on Identity and Access Management (IAM) efforts. You will play a critical role in prioritizing and executing on these efforts. Using your facilitation skills, you will bring teams together, use data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, develop solutions and project manage the implementation of those solutions. You will also track program level impact, provide executive level status updates and quantify the results.   • Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, automation and learning.
  • Initiate programs and create alignment on program planning. Bring teams together to define the business objectives, program structures, and cross-functional support necessary to succeed.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and engineers to define solutions. Develop the best approach to deliver value to customers.
  • Lead regular review meetings with key stakeholders. Provide transparent updates, help drive key decisions, identify risks and address key program issues.
  • Drive to ensure business objectives are met and each program delivers on it’s commitments.
  • Provide regular visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) on an ongoing basis through push status reporting to all stakeholders, team members, and interested parties.
  • Actively manage dependencies across multiple teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders.
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent project teams from delivering on project goals.
  • Develop strong partnerships with functional leaders to drive focus on business objectives. Be a trusted partner for executive management to ensure program success.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of experience working in the field of computer security and risk management
  • 10-15+ years of enterprise software/technical program or engineering management experience at an enterprise technology company.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Cloud Computing and Service Oriented Architectures.
  • Experience with Enterprise Identity and Access Management.
  • Possesses an understanding of information security, privacy frameworks, and related compliance requirement
  • Outstanding record of complex program management with a history of success in achieving key business outcomes
  • Demonstrated use of professional, repeatable methodology for initiation, work breakdown, scheduling, reporting, risk and change management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers, product managers and senior business leaders.
  • Ability to understand a wide array of technical subjects and technologies relevant to the programs.
  • High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Skilled in risk management. Can perform business and project risk analysis to make complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions
  • Strong written, verbal and data visualization communication and presentation skills with the ability to tailor to a wide range of audiences (from C-level to individual contributor). Capable of adjusting messaging to fit the audience.
  • Technical knowledge in multiple security domain areas such as engineering, applications, system and network security, authentication or security protocols
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, and robust technical solutions
  • Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
  • Experience building solutions in distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
  • Experience with agile/iterative development and program management methodologies
  • Comfortable balancing between tactical and strategic deliverables.
  • Ability to manage/juggle competing priorities without loss of efficiency.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members using polished written and verbal skills.
