Senior Delivery Manager – Remote

Our Levvel family is growing! We are looking for a Delivery Manager (DM) to join our Financial Services & Payments (FS&P) team. This role focuses on providing delivery leadership, both technical and strategic. As a DM at Levvel, you must be meticulous, driven, and collaborative, with an ability to maintain a strategic viewpoint throughout all facets of your work. Being proactive in your methodology is a must! From running engagements to building relationships, you must be able to communicate effectively and move conversations, projects, and clients towards their goals.
As a DM, you know what it takes to build and launch a product and technology at scale. Your role covers almost the entire SDLC (software development lifecycle), and having an understanding of how all the parts fit together is crucial to your success. You must have strong critical thinking and analytical skills to be able to break down problems, solve smaller problems, and re-connect the dots. As a DM at Levvel, having strong communication skills and a good executive presence is key. You must be able to work with teammates at different levels of a project and translate between those layers, all while having foresight of what red flags may come up. In your role you will lead the delivery of software and/or the digital product experience. You will ask questions of the team to discover risks/gaps, identify any lack of confidence in a plan, and collaboratively work through any misalignment you or the team identify.
At Levvel, our DMs are comfortable discussing banking and payments products, as well as being able to maintain and articulate a perspective on the technical complexities and proposed software solutions – collaborating with Levvel subject matter experts as needed. In this role, you will work closely with all levels of the organization. Your work will connect you with our product managers, technical consultants, project management consultants, and our operational teams. You will work with clients and executive partners to drive partnerships and success for all of our engagements. Problem solving and clearing out roadblocks for your team will be a critical part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of large-scale and/or highly complex client engagements
  • Build and execute delivery plans that include a full product lifecycle, including software development, testing, and also infrastructure and deployment activities required to deliver working, testable software
  • Manage engagement risk, identifying areas of risk, but also acting as an escalation point and shield for the team
  • Be conscious of project economics; planning and budgeting, defining the content of deliverables, and ensuring consensus of proposed solutions from top-level client stakeholders
  • Regularly communicate with clients to maintain a positive relationship, and demonstrate expertise and value
  • Be comfortable having hard conversations with clients
  • Lead and manage expectations for multiple software delivery projects
  • Daily management of project team, including:
  • Working with Levvel’s Product Owners and Architects to define and deliver the strategy and technology solutions for clients
  • Validating Engineering’s ability to meet client commitments
  • Partnering with project management consultants to handle the RAID log, status reporting, and meeting agendas
  • Supervise delivery activities and lead sprint planning
  • Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day direction for Levvel project leaders
  • Identifies and solves red-flag issues before they become major problems
  • Provides an escalation point for the client should it be needed
  • Provide stability and alignment across Levvel and client teams
  • Maintain acute awareness of the client’s desired outcomes to ensure you are driving the delivery team towards said outcomes
  • Capture best practices, case studies, and other core deliverables to iterate on the Client Solutions playbook

Required Qualifications & Skills

    • 8+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in financial services and/or payments
    • 3+ years consulting or in similarly strategic / influential roles outside consulting preferred
    • A demonstrated ability to successfully lead, run, and mentor large / cross functional teams
    • Experience leading a project team of 6 or more individual contributors
    • Proven track record working independently and being responsible for a process, while remaining collaborative in your approach
    • Provide and receive candid feedback, as well as delegate
    • Ability to consult and advise clients on operational and technical solutions
    • Proven ability to communicate complex technical strategies and concepts to non technical stakeholders, including senior client leaders
    • Experience in all phases of product creation and software development lifecycles
    • Proactive management of both an engagement and a relationship, with strong presence and relationship building
    • Ability to push a team while still promoting independence / ownership
    • Natural desire to build relationships, seek out partners, bring people together, etc.
    • Understanding of how to mitigate risk and protect both client and internal stakeholders
    • Possess adaptability and an ability to learn quickly
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to think strategically and drive initiatives
    • Outstanding soft skills with the ability to engage internal and external audiences of all levels
    • Demonstrated professional growth and proven ability to work cross-functionally
    • Strong ability to know where clarity is needed or where issues are likely to arise
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
